Sarah's art is a reflection of the ever-changing artist herself. From stream-of-consciousness painting with her left hand (her natural being her right) to digital art comics and graphic novels, classical nudes to photography, she manages to capture the enduring art, nature, formality and sensuousness of being human.
She has a deep-rooted love for illuminated manuscripts, mediaeval and Byzantine art, and classical portraiture.
You can view an external gallery of her artwork here, but if you do not have a deviantArt account, all pieces labelled 'mature' will be blocked. In short, this means that two thirds of her art will be hidden.
A smaller gallery of her finer works can be viewed here.
If you would like to talk about a commission for the coming year, contact Sarah at sarahemelville@gmail.com with 'Art Commission' in the subject line. Commissions will be officially opened in February, 2010.

4 somethings:
Sarah, I can't seem to comment on Beautiful Things...
Seriously, you're going to publish it, aren't you? You're at least going to do some limited edition prints. The "Love me" page is just unbelievably awesome.
Yes, currently you're not allowed to comment on it. But I might change it back. I'm currently trying to disguise this blog as a website -- it's taking a while, because I have to write all the 'main pages' (eugh, boring), and was toying with the idea of only allowing comments on the actual blog posts. But then again comments are good.
Beautiful Things will be published eventually. I have so so so many more pages to do and not very much inspiration. Every new page I do is just awful. I'm glad you enjoy Love Me, though. I like it myself, moderately, so it's a success at least in that department.
When it is published, I'll be doing hand-made limited edition versions. Hand made paper and home-binding (if that's a term). And there'll be a few extra pages in there, some of them hand-embellished.
But this is still at least a year off. I find my own work to be the least inspiring thing, so it's slow coming.
I'm with Dan on this one. I really do hope you publish Beautiful Things. I just read the "South of the Euphrates" excerpt from the Year Zero Writers page that Dan tweeted about ten minutes ago and was instantaneously floored by it, especially in light of certain recent events in my own life.
It's just brilliant.
When you are ready to publish (which I hope will be sooner, rather than later) I will definitely be in line to buy one.

Thank you. I can't tell you how flattered and honoured I am to hear that!
I hope it will be sooner, too, because I feel it needs to be out there. There's something healing to Beautiful Things, and it needs to enter the world tangibly.
GO ON, SAY IT
